HP virus comes back

by Ivana Strahija on June 11th, 2006 A virus that was discovered almost six years ago came back in a recent driver update found on Hewlett Packard website.

Bit Defender computer security company found an old virus that was still very much alive in HP company. The Funlove virus tries to take over administrative rights on Windows systems and allow remote users to log on. System vulnerable to this virus are Windows NT, 98, Millenuium and 2000, which is a lot considering how long ago the virus was created.

The BitDefender company contacted the Hewlett Packard immediately and the infected file was taken down. Hopefully, next time this lot uploads files to their corporative and support web, they'll scan it with an anti-virus tool.
