Caldera - OpenServer: /bin/login and /etc/getty argument buffer overflow

by Nikola Strahija on December 15th, 2001 A remotely exploitable buffer overflow exists in /bin/login and /etc/getty. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to gain root access to the server.

Vulnerable versions: OpenServer with /bin/log version location.

This was a part of a Caldera Security Advisory CSSA-2001-SCO.40.
