Sober-Z helps detect pedophiles?

by Nikola Strahija on December 19th, 2005 One German pervert believed in the Sober-7 enhanced e-mail and turned himself to the police. As we can see, even viruses combat child abusers.

As we previously wrote, a specific variant of Sober worm spreads itself by sending prospect victims an e-mail, allegedly from state police crime office, informing them that they are under investigation for visiting suspicious web sites, and offering a link (bogus and infected of course) insisting on an urgent answer.

One 20-year-old German citizen got so scared he went to the local police station to turn himself in. Police officers discovered various child abuse images from his computer.

This way, the infamous Sober-Z worm (accounts for approximately 70 per cent of all viruses reported), helped discover a crime that would have most probably never been discovered.
