Phishing on the rise

by Nikola Strahija on February 24th, 2006 In a recently survey conducted by Sophos the results have shown that over half of business surfers receive at least one phishing e-mail a day, while 22 per cent receive five or more a day.

Phishing e-mails are becoming a great menace to the Internet society. Phishers tend to use more sophisticated methods, some of them just tag along with you to your bank account, instead of trying to steal usernames and passwords, or to redirect you to spoofed web sites.

Security experts are shutting down numerous bogus web sites each day, producing more in depth scanners, users are advised to check any suspicious sounding e-mail, but phishing seems to rise nevertheless.
