New Skype dodges more bullets

by Nikola Strahija on May 9th, 2006 The new Skype build, version 2.5, is designed to get past various blocking software produced to 'protect' business networks.

Skype 2.5 beta, according to iPoque, is proving to be more difficult to detect and stop. While the German based iPoque has to put their heads together to bring their Skype-killing PRX Traffic Manager PRX-250 up to date, Skype lovers are applauding the changes.

Security experts meanwhile agree that Skype is somewhat of a computer security hazard because of its unpredictable nature and the fact that users can transmit files and messages bypassing security software by using encrypted tunnels.
