New keylogging trojan attacks

by Nikola Strahija on January 19th, 2006 A variant of the Keylog-sters Trojan, which appeared almost a year ago, is spreading rapidly across the net. It has hit thousands of computers in America and England, but only a hundred in Australia.

Reports of infection have been announced from 50 different countries. Banks, mobile phone companies and airlines were infected too.

The tTrojan captures screenshots of Web pages with login fields such as usernames and passwords, records the stolen data into a text file and uploads it to a private FTP server.

One of the biggest problems with this Trojan, as well as others is that users receive no obvious indicators that they have been affected, leaving many unaware of the potential security breach.
