New IBM security software

by Nikola Strahija on February 25th, 2006 IBM company has been putting much work into ist latest product: an application that should help users safeguard their internal networks from inside hacking attempts.

The IBM security software, named Identity Risk and Identification, is a part of IBM's Identity Mangment Services. It works by analyzing users' network activity, trying to find any irregular behavour, which should suggest unauthorized access to restricted areas.

The IRI software also compares previous online activity of an individual user to the new activity and plot that use against other peer users.

IBM said Identity Risk and Identification is a step beyond user IDs, passwords and even biometric or secure cards, since those ID methods confirm user access but can't verify proper use.
