Internet Explorer 7.0 to be issued independently
by Nikola Strahija on February 16th, 2005 For the first time in years Microsoft has decided to issue IE 7.0 aside from the next version of Windows OS.
IE is supposed to come out long before Longhorn, which is the code name for the next gen Windows. This was announced by the man himself, on RSA Conference 2005. Gates also admitted that Internet Explorer is probably the biggest security risk in Windows. Therefore, they want to issue it beforehand, and give themselves more time to evaluate possible bugs.
The trial version of IE 7.0 will be available to the public before summer this year, and should implement some advanced security functions.
