Info.Sec. Magazine Recognizes 2002 Information Sec. Excellence Award Winners

by Nikola Strahija on March 20th, 2002 Information Security(R) magazine today announced the winners for its 2002 Information Security Excellence Awards. The annual award program recognizes the IT/security industry's leading products as determined by the magazine's subscribers, who deploy and manage these solutions. Award finalists in each category were selected based on two criteria: (1) industry-wide deployment base and (2) overall quality within enterprise environments.

The magazine announced 12 winners across 11 product categories: Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls, Antivirus/Mobile Code Tools, VPNs, Enterprise Security Management/Centralized Management, Access Control/Authorization, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Freeware/Shareware, Authentication (Soft Form Factor), Authentication (Hard Form Factor), and E-mail Security. For complete award results and information, visit Information Security's Web site at www.infosecuritymag.com/awards2002.

"Organizations in every industry are battling against a wide array of ever-changing cyber-threats and attacks, while at the same time trying to secure business communications and critical networks for employees, partners and customers," said Andy Briney, editor-in-chief of Information Security. "In the minds of our readers, the winning products are among the best technologies to address these all-important security issues."

The winners of the 2002 Information Security Excellence Awards were announced March 18th at an Awards Luncheon at MIS Training Institute's InfoSec World Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla. The winners will also appear in the April 2002 issue of Information Security magazine, an independent magazine published by TruSecure(R) Corp. (www.trusecure.com) a Herndon, Va.-based leading managed security service provider.

The Information Security Awards is the highest honor bestowed to individual security companies whose innovative products have advanced the state of security technology. It is awarded annually to organizations, which, in the opinion of the magazine’s subscribers, have developed a premier security solution.
