Huawei 4G modem remote code execution

by Nikola Strahija on October 5th, 2015 Timur Yunusov and Kirill Nesterov from Positive Technologies found a remote code execution and DoS vulnerabilities in the popular Huawei E3272 4G USB modem.


By sending malicious packets to the device's Common Gateway Interface an attacker can intercept and decrypt the target's traffic, track it's location and obtain a beachead on connected machines.
