Hacking the State Department

by Ivana Strahija on July 14th, 2006 Well, some hackers have turned trying to hack into US State Department into a full time hobby, with SD release stating that the department has been hit for numerous times over the past weeks.

The State Department admitted to have suffered large scale hacker attacks and breaches recently, but ensures the people that none of the sensitive data has been compromised. 'Just in case' the State Department is changing all of the passwords and changing protocols.

The target of the attacks have been State Department's China and North Korea offices. Some security experts claim that computer and network security at the State Department is lacking to say the least: there aren't any password changing strict guidelines and many employees don't even use encryption.
