Google server hosts virus

by Nikola Strahija on June 20th, 2006 Websense reports that Google Pages service, which provide free web hosting, contained a viscous Trojan worm that steals banking information. Google is already dealing with the problem.

The Google Pages service lets you design and set up your website very easily and is completely free for anyone. It seems that malicious attackers find this service useful too.

When the computer security company Websense discovered the Trojan on Google Pages, they immediately contacted Google, and are monitoring the whole service. No reports of infection were received yet.

The Trojan is of a specifically nasty nature, because it can 'sleep' for any amount of time on a users computer and get activated only when a person uses the online banking, when it steals sensitive information by detecting keystrokes.
