F-Secure insecure

by Nikola Strahija on February 3rd, 2006 Thousands of worm-infected e-mails were sent on Wednesday form various F-Secure addresses. E-mails were pretending to be from an F-Secure employee.

The computer security company from Helsinki reported that spoofed e-mails were infected with a new variant of the Breplibot worm.

The e-mails were designed to appear from a non-existent employee David Adams, Dept. Research, F-Secure Development. They claimed that there was a problem with the e-mail recipientís Web site and attached a screen shot to demonstrate.

The company said that the e-mails were not sent from F-Secure network.The addresses used in the attack included [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]
