Eight critical fixes for MS OS

by Nikola Strahija on October 8th, 2005 There will be nine security fixes, eight of them critical, on Microsoft Patch Tuesday, the company has announced.

Eight critical patches are all updates to the Windows OS, and will be released next week. The other update, for both Windows and Exchange, is rated as important.

Microsoft will also release an updated version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. The tool will not be distributed using Software Update Services, however.

In September, Microsoft initially released one software fix on Patch Tuesday, then pulled the patch a day later due to "quality" issues, according to a Microsoft spokeswoman.
