Drug spam extortion

by Nikola Strahija on June 1st, 2006 Spammers are threatening PC users again, this time they are saying: Buy drugs we promote to get back your files!

Sophos computer security company was the one to discover the May Alert / Arhievus.a Trojan, used by spamers to lock all files in My Documents folder on users computers.

When users get infected and try to open any files in that folder, they are informed that all their files were encrypted. In order to get them back, desperate users are advised to make a purchase on one of three online pharmacies.

Sophos security experts have managed to crack the password needed: mf2lro8sw03ufvnsq034jfowr18f3cszc20vmw
