Black Hat reveals security issues again

by Nikola Strahija on August 3rd, 2006 Hendrik Scholz of Freenet Cityline disclosed an unpatched Cisco firewall vulnerability at Black Hat conference.

The vulnerability lets the hacker bypass the firewall and open any port he likes, as well as open up any server from the outside, Scholz said. The vulnerability is rather easy to exploit and is found on Cisco PIX firewall applications.

Scholz was unwilling to comment on the vulnerability any more, and the official Black Hat release doesn't offer any more details, presumably because Cisco is doing double shifts to plug this hole.
