ATPhttpd 0.4 DoS

by Nikola Strahija on December 15th, 2001 There is a vulnerability in ATPhttpd 0.4 if a malicious user send a long URL a few times.

Proof of concept:
http://host/AAAAAAAAA...(Ax3000)...AAA

Tested on OpenBSD 2.9 / ATPhttpd 0.4 Alpha release.

FYI:
ATPhttpd, the tiny, caching, high performance webserver. ATPhttpd is ideal for serving lots of static content, especially where disk I/O is expensive, such as NFS mounted web shares, or graphics servers.

Vendor website.

Vulnerability found by Tamer Sahin/Securityoffice.net.
