Another Firefox exploit

by Nikola Strahija on July 31st, 2006 Just days after the newest version of Firefox browser was released, a new exploit for the old version surfaced. Update your Firefox browser.

Firnavo.Exploit Trojan takes advantage of Mozilla Firefox Javascript Navigator Object Remote Code Execution Vulnerability, according to Symantec. Although the impact of this Trojan is presumed to be low, because the patch has been released last week, users are advised to update their browsers if they already haven't.

Symantec also warned that: "Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow the execution of arbitrary code. The Trojan may perform simple actions such as changing your Mozilla Firefox home page."
