Google will help users surf safely

Posted by: Ivana Strahija on August 7, 2006

Becoming a part of the Stop Badware Coalition, Google will start to warn users when they
click on a link to a website found through Google search which presents a security risk.
Although the start of Google enrolment is not yet known, security experts expect that this new incentive will help lower the possibility of users unknowingly landing on malicious websites.

The drill will go like this: when a user clicks on a search result that would take him to a malicious website, Google will first show a warning, making it possible for the user to click back or proceed. The reports about bad websites will come directly from the Stop Badware Coalition.
